THE LOBSTER

The Lobster is an indy A24 film that explores an eery surreal world where failure to find a mate and repopulate has dire consequences. My final execution (left) highlights the theme of dating and falling in love that carries through the film. I decided to add a lobster in the shadow of the wine glass to foreshadow the possible fate of the protagonist.

MY FIRST TWO EXECUTIONS (SHOWN BELOW) WERE MY EFFORTS TO TRANSLATE THE EERY NATURE OF THE FILM AND EMPHASIZE THE THEMES OF TRANSITION AND ESCAPE. I DECIDED THAT THEY DIDN'T HAVE ENOUGH TO DO WITH THE OVERARCHING THEME OF DATING.
